Personal History
HIDEO WAKAMATSU was born in Tokyo, Japan on November 2nd, 1950. He graduated from Tohoku University in 1972. He majored in Japanese literature, French literature, and Arts. After graduating, he worked as the executive at the zipper maker in Paris, France for 10 years.
It gave him the occasions to have a contact with the dresses makers and bag makers. After he came back to Japan in 1981, he worked as a manager in charge of merchandise development in Kyowa Company Limited, which is a luggage and school bag maker. He cultivates his artistic ideas and spectacular French culture in his designs.
In addition, he utilizes his bold ideas and combines them with sensitive and exquisite Japanese techniques of development. He also started a distributive retail business in Kyowa Company Limited. In November 2001, he became a Chief Designer of Eminent Luggage Corporation in Taiwan. Currently, he is working as CEO and Product General Manager in Kyowa Company Limited.
He is the top leader of Kyowa Company Limited and also handles foreign business. HIDEO WAKAMATSU is a designer who works progressively in a vast field of development and sales.
